Jessica Old
My name is Jessica Old. I attend Lake Shore High School as a senior. I have officially decided what I want to do as a career, and that decision was not easy. My goal is to become an ER Physician. I like to set high standards. Reaching those standards however, is a bit difficult. I always try to do the best I can in school. I always work to the best of my ability. I don’t really have a favorite subject, I like them all. During my spare time I like to enjoy time with family, friends and do activities outdoors.
In the future I hope to be able to decide between the two jobs I have boiled down to. I like to be under pressure and I love helping people. I also like to challenge myself, trying to find things that normal people usually wont. School takes up a big part of my everyday activities. I always come home to do my homework; I don’t do anything until my work is done. The one exception to that is however, softball. There will be days when I have practice right after school. In that case I make sure to get homework done right after. Softball is my other priority. I've grown up around a family who is in love with baseball, and now I’m the same way. Just like everyone else, I have flaws. Mine just happens to be that I tend to lose motivation now and then. Even though that happens, I always make sure to find it again. Through my life experience so far, I've been taught a lot including manners, common sense, courtesy, and responsibility. Responsibility is a big part of the way I live. Without it, I wouldn't be who I am today.
A quote that I best live my life by is, “Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game” -A Cinderella Story. The first time I saw this quote was in a movie called A Cinderella Story. Ever since then I have never let that quote escape my mind. The reason why I live by this quote is because I have a “phobia” of failing. I realize that nobody wants to fail, but I take it to a whole new level. When I think back to this quote though, I not only think about baseball, but I think about life. I’m afraid that if I audition for the school choir I wont make it. I don’t let it bother me nevertheless, and that’s because of this quote. I have accomplished so many things after learning of this quote, and I hope to accomplish so much more later on.
