Our layout is going to be turned into a journal to go along with our title, The Friendship Diaries. We just have to figure out how to take the binder and put it on the journal so it lines up right. But our logo is going to be our banner. I don't think we are doing animation for it because we want to use the whole 15 seconds for our video. However I will have to talk to Caitlin about it to make sure that's true. Then for the bottom table, we want to try to turn it into a pencil if that's possible, again we just have to figure out how to do it.
Our three repurposed items were film negatives, light bulbs, and pizza boxes. The film negatives were transformed into a lit jar capable of lighting up the negatives for fun decorations at night. As for the light bulbs, we were able to make them into a "time capsule" type ornament, a great gift for Christmas. Then the pizza boxes are turned into a cool picture frame good enough for any friend. Our main color for our logo is green and the hex code for it is #00A300, it means: money, growth, fertility, freshness, healing, envy, jealousy, guilt, disorder, life, renewal, balance, harmony (http://www.designbyjoyce.com/color_meanings.html#sthash.TdBPsnro.dpuf). Our tagline will be Forever Safe. Forever Remembered. The rendering process was so hard, with Caitlin and I being such perfectionists it took us forever to get everything the way we wanted it. The tools that helped us the most was the stylists, the crop tool, the gradient tool, and the bucket tool. We were also able to find a purpose for the reflection tool.
So for the Dynamic Drive slideshow example, we decided to get rid of the bigger one and use the smaller one. It was difficult at first to figure out how exactly to put the pictures in. After a few minutes of trial and error we finally figured out how to change it in the head section. So we added the images then changed the dimensions. Dynamic Drive gave us the codes we needed to be able to make it work, we just had to change these few things around after copy and pasting it into Notepad ++. Then for something we might use on the website we want to use the bubble images for our navigation.
“Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.”
― Muhammad Ali. With every passing day, you look for excitement, laughter, and memories, but there is no one else out there who can help you with that more than your best friend. Memories made with those who you cannot seem to forget are the memories worth documenting. We found our friendship by accident… We were forced together at a school bowling tryout, and then all we simply did was say hi. We have been inseparable since. Now, as we participate in The Michigan Council of Women in Technology’s annual web design contest, we can show our friendship to others. The contest is based off of the theme “Repurposing: The Ultimate in Creativity and Recycling.” The point is to take everyday items, old items, or unused items, and flip them so they aren’t thrown away instead. With our website we will show you “Do It Yourself” projects that turn a jar, a light bulb, and a pizza box, into fun decorations worth storing your memories. And with this project comes an object that will forever remind you of your greatest achievement… Finding your best friend! Caitlin and I want to do something like this one, because this pretty much sums up our friendship. We are crazy together and we can be really corky and cheesy so this is really the perfect type of 404 message we can do. We plan on wearing plan shirts so we can photoshop the designs we want on them, and then Caitlin will give me a extra pair of glasses she has. That's our idea so far. Then the sketch is what we are considering our message is going to look like.
With the two types of font types to choose from, system and web, its better to use the web fonts because everyone can get that type of font, because its off the internet. And then there is the difference between Serif and Sans Serif, Sans Serif doesn't have the tails or wings that Serif does. So when you are using fonts you want to use Sans Serif because its easier to read. However, you can use Serif for a title or heading for your website because it looks cool.
When choosing a font off the web you want to make sure you pay attention to the impact dial. Because that dial will tell you how slow the font will make your web page open. I think the cursive family font that I used for the sentence would be really nice on our website because it is fancy but not too fancy that people can't read it. When considering font sizes, using Microsoft Word can help. If you click on a font size in Microsoft Word, that font will be close to the font size on your website. However, when you are changing your font size you have to change pixels to ems. This is because ems are easier to view in any web browser. The way to change that is taking the pixel size you want and dividing it by 16, because 1 em=16px. So 70px is equal to 4.375 em, 36px is equal to 2.25, and 10px is equal to 0.625. The four link states are a:link, a:visited, a:hover, and a:active, and I will remember them by Little Vicky Has Acne.
The definition of CSS is cascading style sheets. The difference between CSS and HTML is that HTML wasn't made for design where as CSS was made to create styles. CSS Syntax Code: p {color: blue; text-align: center; 20px;}. Comment tag code is /* Comment */ . The three ways of inserting CSS is external, internal, and inline, but we will be using internal most. How does the article define repurposing? Repurposing is just finding a new use for a old item. The idea that sparked me the most was When In Doubt, Keep It Simple. (586) 298-6475, 33195 Harper Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48082 is the closest Waste Management site to my house. The closest salvation army is 34150 S. Gratiot Avenue (Major Intersection - Gratiot & 15 Mile) CLINTON TOWNSHIP, 586-790-2622. 3 facts... well, did you know that 75% of water in you house is used from the bathroom? And recycling steel or tin cans can save up to 60% of the energy used to make them. Also, enough plastic bottle are thrown away each year to circle the earth 4 times, and that's just in the US! I love the old TV aquarium! I love fishes, and the fact that you can turn something old into a cool way to house them makes me feel all bubbly inside. I'm not a big fan of turning hangers into room dividers, cause first off you shouldn't have that many hangers, and secondly you can see through it. Caitlin and I decided it would be cool to take a pizza box and cut out a square from it, then we are going to paint it, and make it into a picture frame.
