The title of the article is “The Farmers Donkey”. What I got out of this article was that giving up is never the answer. There is always a solution to the problem, but sometimes you have to think hard about it. The donkey realized that his owner was going to bury him alive after he fell in this well. At first he started to cry about it, but after a while he found a way himself to get out of the well. Even though the owner thought the donkey was a lost cause, the donkey never gave up. He kept a positive attitude, and that’s what we are talking about in this chapter.
I agree that there are times in life when giving up seem like the easy way out, until you realize you’re not ready to give up. I tried to get into an auditioned choir my freshman year. My choir teacher told me that my audition wasn’t the greatest, and I’m not real good with constructive criticism. So when I went home that night I had it set in my head that I was never going to try out again. Then I realized that I might not of done good that time, but what was stopping me from finding a way to get over my fear to do it again. The beginning of my sophomore year, I auditioned again, and this time I made it! So giving up after my first audition seemed like a good idea to me, but I realized I wasn’t ready to do that, and so I found a way to pick myself back up.
I will probably use this information to help me remember that there is always a solution, or always a way over every obstacle. And I’m going to change my outlook on the way I see my future. In the work place there will always be someone “throwing dirt on you”. You have to be able to find a way out of it. Once you do you will realize that there are positives to ever negative.
